{"id":222040,"date":"2022-06-09T11:06:02","date_gmt":"2022-06-09T09:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=222040"},"modified":"2022-06-09T11:06:02","modified_gmt":"2022-06-09T09:06:02","slug":"krakow-university-of-technologys-hydrogel-dressings-appreciated-at-the-euroinvest-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/krakow-university-of-technologys-hydrogel-dressings-appreciated-at-the-euroinvest-exhibition\/","title":{"rendered":"Krakow University of Technology\u2019s hydrogel dressings appreciated at the EUROINVEST exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Developed by students from the Faculty of Materials Science and Physics of the Krakow University of Technology (PK), hydrogel materials that can act as innovative third-generation dressings for the treatment of skin necrosis, were awarded a silver medal at the EUROINVENT &#8211; European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation in Ia\u0219i, Romania.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The solution developed at the Faculty of Materials Science and Physics is dedicated to patients with difficult to heal skin burns, pressure ulcers and ulcer wounds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Failure to properly care for such wounds can lead to local skin necrosis as well as bacterial infection, which in extreme cases results in limb amputation or even death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hydrogel dressings create an appropriate environment for wound healing, and at the same time provide medicinal substances supporting the healing process.
