Scientists of the University of Gda\u0144sk – Dr Karol K\u0142odzi\u0144ski from the Department of Ancient History of the University of Gda\u0144sk and Dr Monika Badura, from the Faculty of Biology are studying the remains of the ancient city of Mustis in Tunisia. The research is financed under the AFRIPAL project financed by the Opus program of the National Science Center.<\/b><\/p>\n
According to the researchers, a comprehensive understanding of ancient history, including the history of cities such as Mustis, will help to better understand the foundations of modern Europe, which are based on three main pillars-civilizations: Judeo-Christian, Greek and Roman.<\/span><\/p>\n The uniqueness of Mustis is its mystery. Its history goes back to Numidian and Roman times. It is located approx. 12 km from Thugga and approx. 120 km from ancient Carthage. Unlike these two ancient cities, however, the history of the Mustis is still unknown. This state of affairs is to be changed by the Polish-Tunisian research that has been conducted since 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n
