{"id":219343,"date":"2022-05-25T16:08:11","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T14:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=219343"},"modified":"2022-05-25T16:08:11","modified_gmt":"2022-05-25T14:08:11","slug":"mars-scorpio-rover-ready-for-the-university-rover-challenge-in-the-utah-desert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/mars-scorpio-rover-ready-for-the-university-rover-challenge-in-the-utah-desert\/","title":{"rendered":"Mars Scorpio rover ready for the University Rover Challenge in the Utah desert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The Mars rover Scorpio constructed by students of the Off-Road Scientific Club of Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology is ready for the University Rover Challenge &#8211; an international competition of these student structures, organized in the desert of Utah, in the USA.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Off-Road Science Club is one of 36 teams from 10 countries that qualified for the competition &#8211; out of 99 applicants from around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The latest work of Wroc\u0142aw students weighs 47 kg, can move at a maximum speed of 20 km \/ h and, most importantly, can cope with an uneven surface, it can lift and screw whatever it needs, and even write a few words on the keyboard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compared to the previous rovers, the &#8220;seventh&#8221;<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scorpio is lighter, but at the same time larger and more stable. The designers improved the stiffness of the manipulator, which was a problem in the previous version of the rover.
