In October, students of Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology will start classes in a new BA program. In Geoenergetics they will learn how to assess the resource potential of heat trapped in rocks and water, and how it can be used to produce electricity and thermal energy.<\/b><\/p>\n
Geoenergetics is a new study of the geoengineering, mining and geology faculty, but it is being developed in close cooperation with the mechanical and energy faculty, whose specialists will also conduct courses at these studies.<\/span><\/p>\n Future engineers will learn not only about the energy potential of the Earth’s interior, but equally about technologies for transforming heat hidden in rock layers, steam or water into electricity or heat.<\/span><\/p>\n According to specialists, the interest in this field of energy will also grow because it has a small carbon footprint, and as such is supported by subsidies for investments by the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n
