The conference organized by IREG (International Ranking Expert Group) Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, along with the authors of the main international rankings (THE, US News, QS, Webometics, U-Multirank, Leiden), will be attended by world experts in higher education and representatives of universities from around the world.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The organizers of the event emphasize, that the rankings have grown in importance in the last 20 years, but now they are at a crossroads. The pandemic and the war in Ukraine will have a lasting impact on higher education and its internationalization. Student mobility may decline or change direction; research cooperation may face new political barriers. All of this will have an impact on the rankings as well.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the participants of the conference will look for answers to the questions: To what extent do rankings help and to what extent do they harm higher education?
