Prof. Pawe\u0142 Swianiewicz from the Institute of Spatial Management of the University of Life Sciences in Wroc\u0142aw will implement the project “The structure of local power and styles of political leadership in Polish local governments”. This year, field research will begin, preliminary conclusions will be known in a year’s time.<\/b><\/p>\n
The research, financed thanks to a grant from the OPUS program of the National Science Center, will be conducted in three cities of large, medium and small size, and the results will be anonymised. The project should answer how city management and city policies have changed. Big politics and its impact on local authorities through budget funding will also appear in the research.<\/p>\n
Prof. Pawe\u0142 Swianiewicz is one of the leading Polish experts in the field of local government. Until recently, he was the head of the Department of Local Development and Policy at the University of Warsaw, currently he heads the Department of Social and Economic Studies at the Institute of Spatial Management at the University of Wroc\u0142aw.<\/p>\n
