{"id":204978,"date":"2021-12-07T14:04:14","date_gmt":"2021-12-07T13:04:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=204978"},"modified":"2021-12-07T14:04:14","modified_gmt":"2021-12-07T13:04:14","slug":"gdansk-scientists-publish-an-article-in-npjvaccines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/gdansk-scientists-publish-an-article-in-npjvaccines\/","title":{"rendered":"Gda\u0144sk scientists publish an article in npjVaccines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Employees of the Department of Molecular Biology of Viruses of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of the University of Gda\u0144sk (UG) and the Medical University of Gda\u0144sk have published a review on SARS-CoV-2 in the journal npjVaccines.\u00a0The publication explains how scientists are investigating whether a natural or vaccine-induced immune response is effective against new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The authors of the publication &#8220;The immune response against SARS-CoV-2 variants: the role of neutralization tests&#8221; are: Dr Alicja Maria Chmielewska, Anna Czarnota, Prof.\u00a0Krystyna Bie\u0144kowska-Szewczyk and Dr\u00a0Katarzyna Grzyb.\u00a0The have summarized the information on the effectiveness of vaccines against virus variants.<\/p>\n<p>The scientists claim that the response caused by registered vaccines is efficient against new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, although there are drops in the effectiveness of antibodies in vitro tests.
