Researchers from the Paleozoology Department of the University of Wroclaw invite\u00a0visitors to a science picnic as part of the Gorz\u00f3w Wielkopolski Days from 8 to 10 June. They will talk about the rhino skeleton of stephanorhinus kirchbergensis, known as Stefania, discovered during the construction of the Gorz\u00f3w beltway.<\/p>\n

The remains are over 120,000 years and they are one of the best preserved animal skeletons from that time in Poland. The discovery initiated the cooperation of the Lubuskie Voivodship, the City of Gorz\u00f3w and the University of Wroc\u0142aw. On Friday, June 8, a letter of intent will be signed about joint activities promoting paleontology.<\/p>\n

\u201cStefania\u201d inspired Wroclaw scientists to launch an idea for the Cenozoic Park. On Saturday, a scientific session will take place, on Sunday there is planned “Paleontology for fun” including educational films, presentation of bones, rocks and minerals and the performance of rhino and ammonite figurines on the plaster.<\/p>\n
