{"id":200925,"date":"2021-11-05T14:55:23","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T13:55:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=200925"},"modified":"2021-11-05T14:55:23","modified_gmt":"2021-11-05T13:55:23","slug":"foundation-for-polish-science-grants-awards-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/foundation-for-polish-science-grants-awards-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Foundation for Polish Science grants Awards 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>For the thirtieth time, the Foundation for Polish Science granted its awards.\u00a0The Awards 2021 were received by four outstanding scientists: Prof.\u00a0Bo\u017cena Kami\u0144ska-Kaczmarek, Prof.\u00a0Jacek Jemielity, Prof.\u00a0Grzegorz Pietrzy\u0144ski and Prof.\u00a0Cezary Cie\u015bli\u0144ski.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The prizes are awarded for special scientific achievements and discoveries that move the boundaries of cognition, open up new cognitive perspectives and make an outstanding contribution to the civilization and cultural progress of our country.\u00a0The amount of the prize is 200,000.\u00a0PLN.<\/p>\n<p>Prof.\u00a0Bo\u017cena Kami\u0144ska-Kaczmarek\u00a0from the Institute of Experimental Biology\u00a0of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Warsaw received the Life and Earth Sciences\u00a0Award\u00a02021\u00a0for discovering the mechanisms that cause malignant gliomas to reprogram immune cells to support the development of these brain tumors.<\/p>\n<p>Prof.\u00a0Jacek Jemielity\u00a0from the Center of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw (UW) received the Award in chemical sciences and materials\u00a0for the development of chemical modifications of mRNA as tools for therapeutic applications and research on cellular processes.<\/p>\n<p>Prof.\u00a0Grzegorz Pietrzy\u0144ski\u00a0from the M.
