Scientists from the University of Silesia and Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology have developed a new antifungal preparation based on ionic liquids.\u00a0The invention may be used for the preservation of books, documents or works of art. The new solution has been patented.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Valuable items are most often created with the use of materials with a delicate structure, easily damaged, e.g. as a result of the presence of various microorganisms.\u00a0Conservation of such items is a huge challenge for specialists.\u00a0Biocides available on the market, characterized by high biological activity, are very often toxic to humans and the environment.<\/p>\n

Preparations effective in the fight against fungal colonies, can irretrievably destroy the structure of valuable material.\u00a0That is why it is so important to look for new preparations to protect these monuments – effective and at the same time safe for people and objects subjected to the conservation process.<\/p>\n
