{"id":190575,"date":"2021-08-13T15:01:48","date_gmt":"2021-08-13T13:01:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=190575"},"modified":"2021-08-13T15:01:48","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T13:01:48","slug":"archeologists-of-polish-academy-of-sciences-made-further-archaeological-discoveries-in-biskupice-near-wieliczka","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/archeologists-of-polish-academy-of-sciences-made-further-archaeological-discoveries-in-biskupice-near-wieliczka\/","title":{"rendered":"Archeologists of Polish Academy of Sciences made further archaeological discoveries in Biskupice near Wieliczka"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>After a year, researchers from the Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) returned to the archaeological site of the culture of engraved ribbon ceramics in Biskupice near Wieliczka.\u00a0They discovered traces of more houses from seven thousand years ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So far, scientists have found over a thousand archaeological items at this site, mainly fragments of pottery vessels.\u00a0They also found flint and stone products and a few items made of obsidian.\u00a0They took samples for archaeobotanical research from each of the examined objects.<\/p>\n<p>The fieldwork in Biskupice is conducted by archaeologists working at the Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences and students of the Institute of Archeology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.<\/p>\n<p>Research on the seven thousand years old settlement is carried out as part of the scientific project &#8220;Looking for a suitable place to live: plant management and human-environment interactions at the beginning of the Neolithic period in Ma\u0142opolska&#8221; led by Dr Magdalena Moskal-del Hoyo from the Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a year, researchers from the Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) returned to the archaeological site of the culture of engraved ribbon ceramics in Biskupice near Wieliczka.\u00a0They discovered traces of more houses from seven thousand years ago.
