The Katowice University was the second in Poland that proposed a new study model with free access to the offer of many faculties and interdisciplinary programs expanding the basic direction of related disciplines.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A year later, students were able to continue education within the framework of Inter-Faculty Individual Studies in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and from 2014 as part of Individual Inter-faculty Studies. Such studies were selected by 913 students who defended 718 diploma theses. They were granted 205 scholarships from the Minister of Science and Higher Education.<\/p>\n<p>Among the graduates of inter-territorial studies at the Silesian University there are Szczepan Twardoch &#8211; a popular contemporary writer, Aleksandra Dzik &#8211; mountaineer and mountain guide, and Dr Aleksandra Sarna \u2013 renowned media psychologist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Twenty years ago, the University of Silesia launched the program Interfaculty Individual Studies in the Humanities.
