D\u0105browska from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144 won the\u00a0gold medal at the 14th International Fair of Inventions and Innovations INTARG in Katowice.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Their invention is a method of producing (eco) polylactide foil with tar for biostatic or biocidal properties.\u00a0The foil is used in agriculture and horticulture for protecting plant crops against pathogens ensuring lower consumption of plant protection products.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, (eco) foil, after using it, is biodegraded faster (by about 20%) compared to biodegradable foils that do not contain tar.\u00a0The co-author of the invention of researchers from the Department of Genetics of the Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Sciences in Toru\u0144 is Dr Henryk P.
