{"id":188128,"date":"2021-07-27T13:18:15","date_gmt":"2021-07-27T11:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=188128"},"modified":"2021-07-27T13:18:15","modified_gmt":"2021-07-27T11:18:15","slug":"scientist-from-the-university-of-warsaw-becomes-the-ombudsman-for-human-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/scientist-from-the-university-of-warsaw-becomes-the-ombudsman-for-human-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Scientist from the University of Warsaw becomes the Ombudsman for Human Rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Polish Senate of the Republic of Poland approved the election of Prof.\u00a0Marcin Wi\u0105cek from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw (UW) as Ombudsman for Human Rights.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr Marcin Wi\u0105cek is the head of the Human Rights Department at the Institute of Legal and Administrative Sciences at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.\u00a0He is an expert in constitutional law, author of important scientific publications on constitutional law, constitutional and administrative judiciary and the protection of human rights.<\/p>\n<p>Prof.\u00a0Wi\u0105cek will continue to work at the University of Warsaw.\u00a0Next academic year, he will conduct seminars for students on civil rights, liberties and human rights.<\/p>\n<p>The new Ombudsman graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw; he is also a graduate of the American Law Center.\u00a0In 2009 he presented his doctoral thesis on the legal question of the court to the Constitutional Tribunal.\u00a0In 2013, he obtained the academic title of associated professor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Polish Senate of the Republic of Poland approved the election of Prof.\u00a0Marcin Wi\u0105cek from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw (UW) as Ombudsman for Human Rights.
