The University of Silesia in Katowice was nominated for the Research Impact Leaders Awards, granted on the initiative of Elsevier.\u00a0These awards are granted to research centers that contribute to strengthening the recognition of the achievements of Polish universities in the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The university was nominated in the Engineering and Technologies category.\u00a0The jury stressed that 35 percent of the analyzed works of the Silesian university was created in cooperation with foreign authors, and 25 percent\u00a0was published in magazines classified as 10 percent most cited scientific journals.<\/p>\n

The indicators taken into account in the Engineering and Technologies category include:\u00a0the number of publications that in the case of the University of Silesia is constantly increasing and has increased by nearly 50% since 2017.\u00a0Another criterion is the number of publications among the 10 percent most cited journals and this indicator for the years 2016\u20132020 is 4.9%.\u00a0(70 articles).<\/p>\n
