The new district is to be a showcase of Czech urban planning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The district designed by WUT PhD students will be built on the site of the old Tepna textile factory. Local authorities want the three-hectare area around the castle to become a showcase of a city with a population of 20,000, located on the border with Poland.<\/p>\n<p>The jury chaired by architect Jaroslav Wertig from Prague&#8217;s A69 &#8211; Architects studio emphasized in the project justification that &#8220;the main idea of \u200b\u200bthis proposal is to create a comfortable, inclusive and renewable environment that would fit the existing urban and cultural context.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In jury\u2019s opinion it deserves first place in all respects as its authors best understood the relations with the environment and introduced them to the proposed solutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Piotr Person, Olga Czeranowska-Panufnik, W\u0142adys\u0142awa Kijewska and Aleksander Sojka from the Doctoral School No. 5 of the Warsaw University of Technology (PW) won an architectural and urban planning competition for the development of post-industrial areas in the Czech city of Nachod.
