The project, worth of PLN 3.2 million &#8211; was supported by the National Center for Research and Development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Layered hot water PCM storage tank&#8221; will be a solution that allows to save heat. The leader of the project is the Gda\u0144sk company Profi Systems Technology sp. Z o.o, the consortium includes also the Koszalin University of Technology and the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gda\u0144sk.<\/p>\n<p>A certain part of the heat accumulator will be filled with balls a few centimeters in diameter. In each of the balls there will be a so-called phase change material (PCM). When heat is applied, the material, after reaching the correct temperature, undergoes a phase change, i.e. it melts.
