Micha\u0142 Wasilczuk, the Gda\u0144sk University of Technology won this year&#8217;s Smart Development Award in the &#8220;Scientist of the future&#8221; category. The award is a recognition of the authors of technological and social innovations, as well as investments that directly or indirectly raise the standard of living &#8211; informs the university.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prof. Wasilczuk received an award for scientific activities related to bearing engineering and tribology, carried out by as part of the projects: &#8220;Studies on the use of acoustic levitation caused by the Poisson effect for contactless transport of light objects&#8221; and &#8220;Pro-ecological and low-energy construction and material solutions in water and wind energy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The award jury also noticed the laureate&#8217;s participation in the project concerning the development of modern diagnostic systems allowing to increase the reliability and durability of older types of trams.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. Eng.
