The competition promotes the most effective and eco-innovative activities and works undertaken to protect the environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the category of &#8220;Nature protection and increasing biodiversity&#8221;, Ecolaurel was obtained by scientists of the Faculty of Environmental Biology of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin: Dr Magdalena Pogorzelec, (project manager), dr Barbara Banach, Dr Agnieszka Szczurowska, Dr Barbara Hawrylak-Nowak and Dr Micha\u0142 Nied\u017awiecki, who implemented the project &#8220;Restitution of particularly endangered relict plant species of the Salicaceae family in peat bog habitats&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In the category of &#8220;Protection of the earth&#8217;s surface, waste management&#8221;, the winner is the Polish Geological Institute &#8211; National Research Institute, which in 2019 completed a long-term task of developing an update and modernization of the Geo-environmental Map of Poland in the scale of 1: 50,000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scientists of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and the Polish Geological Institute &#8211; National Research Institute received the prestigious Ecolaurel of the Polish Chamber of Ecology.
