The aim of the project is to develop a diagnostic procedure to assess local arterial stiffness, without invasive or stressful procedures. The inauguration of the project is scheduled for November 10th.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The idea of \u200b\u200bthe project is to record the deformation of the arteries under the influence of pressure pulsations caused by the heart&#8217;s work. On this basis, the scientists are determining the parameters of the arteries, using advanced methods of modeling blood flow in flexible vessels, what allows to determine the stiffness of the arteries.<\/p>\n<p>The project is carried out by a consortium composed of: the Silesian University of Technology, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim and the City Hospital No. 4 in Gliwice.
