These compounds have interesting anti-cancer properties, because they can block a key stage in DNA synthesis and thus stop the replication of cancer cells.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chemists appropriately modified the structure of triapine to obtain compounds that can be used especially in the treatment of colon cancer. The solution has been already patented.<\/p>\n<p>The authors of the invention are chemists of the faculty of exact and technical sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice: Prof. Eng. Jaros\u0142aw Pola\u0144ski, Dr Marta Rejmund, Dr Eng.
