El\u017cbieta Wojaczy\u0144ska, professor of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Wroc\u0142aw University of Technology, conducts advanced research on chiral compounds. They are used for the production of drugs, plant protection products, in the food and cosmetics industries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The renowned journal &#8220;Chemical Reviews&#8221; published her article showing new trends in the synthesis of a group of such compounds &#8211; chiral sulfinyl compounds. Prof. Wojaczy\u0144ska wrote it together with her husband \u2013 Dr Jacek Wojaczy\u0144ski of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Wroc\u0142aw. It is a review, presenting the results of research of scientists worldwide, included in nearly 400 articles from recent years, presenting their discussion, summary of results and presentation of the possibilities for the development of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Sulfinyl compounds are increasingly often used as drugs. They include esomeprazole &#8211; used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease.
