{"id":145805,"date":"2020-09-15T17:08:20","date_gmt":"2020-09-15T15:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=145805"},"modified":"2020-09-15T17:08:20","modified_gmt":"2020-09-15T15:08:20","slug":"polish-scientists-to-breakthrough-in-research-into-an-effective-drug-for-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/polish-scientists-to-breakthrough-in-research-into-an-effective-drug-for-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Polish scientists to breakthrough in research into an effective drug for COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Polish scientists of Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology and \u0141ukasiewicz &#8211; Industrial Chemistry Institute, in cooperation with the laboratories of Rolf Hilgenfeld (Lubeck) and Shaun Olsen (San Antonio), identified molecules with great therapeutic potential that could be a breakthrough on the way to an effective drug against COVID-19.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to their research work under the supervision of Prof. Marcin Dr\u0105g from the Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology, it was possible to identify molecules that may act better than ebselene &#8211; a known anti-inflammatory drug, which in previous studies turned out to be a promising inhibitory substance of both SARS-CoV-2 proteases.
