{"id":139094,"date":"2020-07-31T18:20:16","date_gmt":"2020-07-31T16:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=139094"},"modified":"2020-07-31T18:20:16","modified_gmt":"2020-07-31T16:20:16","slug":"polish-scientists-receive-a-gold-medal-for-innovative-feather-nonwoven-fabrics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/polish-scientists-receive-a-gold-medal-for-innovative-feather-nonwoven-fabrics\/","title":{"rendered":"Polish scientists receive a gold medal for innovative feather nonwoven fabrics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The invention &#8220;Innovative protective nonwovens with the addition of feathers&#8221;, developed as part of the EkoPI\u00d3RO project, by scientists from the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network &#8211; Institute of Biopolymers and Chemical Fibers (IBWCh) in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a and the University of Agriculture in Krakow (URK) was awarded a gold medal in the Agriculture category, during Virtual Innovation Fair &#8211; E-NNOVATE.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The main goal of the project is to develop a concept of waste management methods and by-products from animal production that are desirable in terms of economy and social impact.<\/p>\n<p>The composite protective nonwoven fabrics are made of wool and feathers from a poultry slaughterhouse. The non-woven fabric is intended for covering the grass mixture on difficult terrain (new dumps, heaps, railway embankments, ski slopes, etc.), where it is very difficult to obtain a good turf cover.<\/p>\n<p>Non-woven fabric will facilitate the adaptation of plants in difficult areas. The non-woven fabric is biodegradable within 2-3 months.
