{"id":136529,"date":"2020-07-13T13:24:23","date_gmt":"2020-07-13T11:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=136529"},"modified":"2020-07-13T13:24:23","modified_gmt":"2020-07-13T11:24:23","slug":"students-of-the-silesian-university-of-technology-come-second-in-drone-competitions-in-katowice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/students-of-the-silesian-university-of-technology-come-second-in-drone-competitions-in-katowice\/","title":{"rendered":"Students of the Silesian University of Technology come second in drone competitions in Katowice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Students of the High Flyers Interfaculty Scientific Club from the Silesian University of Technology took second place in the general classification in the 7th drone competition &#8220;Droniada&#8221; at the premises of the Silesian Aeroclub in Katowice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Members of the club took first place and won the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network Award in the competition &#8220;Corridor of life&#8221;. The task was to find with a drone an intruder blocking the corridor of life on the highway, identify the perpetrator and forward the report to the police.<\/p>\n<p>The second competition &#8211; &#8220;Three colors&#8221; &#8211; was based on the detection of outbreaks of plant diseases: downy mildew, phytophthorosis and powdery mildew, which are distinguished by an appropriate RGB color, assigned a geometric figure and the size of the occupied surface. In this competition, Silesian students took second place.<\/p>\n<p>The Droniada competitions are based on real situations in which drones can provide support.
