The project, scheduled for 4 years, will start this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The group of scientists from both universities is led by Dr Jakub W\u0119glorz from the Department of Polish and General History of the XVI-XVIIIth cent. Historians from the University of Wroc\u0142aw will collaborate with researchers from the Department of Pharmacognosy of the Medical University in Wroclaw.<\/p>\n<p>The sources of knowledge of scientists are primarily the records of personal experiences and memories of authors from four centuries ago &#8211; diaries, notes, letters. Such notes &#8211; in the opinion of the researchers &#8211; show the actual picture of medical practices, which could significantly differ from the patterns known from the medical literature of that time.<\/p>\n<p>The project &#8220;Reconstruction and analysis of medicinal preparations identified on the basis of ego- documents from old Polish period (XVI-XVVIII century)&#8221; is financed under the Sonata Bis 7 competition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Researchers from the Medical University and the University of Wroclaw will jointly analyze the medicinal preparations described in the texts from 400 years ago.
