The university scientists created a prototype device, which will roughly determine whether the mask is able to retain particles of 100-110 nanometers (the approximate size of the COVID-19 coronavirus).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; We strive to produce a device that will comparatively test various masks produced by the cottage industry or by unapproved manufacturers. The idea should determine whether the mask protects the patient to a large extent or not &#8211; says Prof. Marek \u0141os from the Silesian University of Technology.<\/p>\n<p>The faculties of Electrical, Mechanical Technology, Chemical and Automation, Electronics and Computer Science, as well as scientists from the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals of the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network, the Biotechnology Center of the Jagiellonian University and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krak\u00f3w joined the research of the Biotechnology Center of the Silesian University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Researchers of the Silesian University of Technology are working on devices to check the level of safety of protective masks.
