{"id":120917,"date":"2020-03-24T16:48:39","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T15:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=120917"},"modified":"2020-03-24T16:48:39","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T15:48:39","slug":"scientists-from-the-university-of-silesia-helping-secure-hospitals-during-a-coronavirus-pandemic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/scientists-from-the-university-of-silesia-helping-secure-hospitals-during-a-coronavirus-pandemic\/","title":{"rendered":"Scientists from the University of Silesia helping secure hospitals during a coronavirus pandemic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Medical physicists from the Faculty of Exact and Technical Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice, have started cooperation with clinics and hospitals in the \u015al\u0105skie Voivodeship as part of research devoted to the use of thermal imaging in the diagnosis of various diseases.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Using experience and thermal imaging cameras, scientists from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering will support combat against coronavirus pandemic led by the National Institute of Oncology Maria Sk\u0142odowska-Curie, the National Research Institute Branch in Gliwice and the University Clinical Center Prof. K. Gibi\u0144ski Silesian Medical University in Katowice.<\/p>\n<p>In these centers, thermographic screening tests are carried out to determine the presence of elevated body temperature of patients and staff.
