This year it was awarded for the creation of the Gda\u0144sk Shakespeare Theater as a unique place, combining tradition and modernity. The laureate is an outstanding expert on Shakespeare and the Elizabethan age, an English philologist, historian, translator of English literature, theater specialist and writer.
