Test results can be used in optoelectronics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr Jadczak learned techniques of mechanical exfoliation, i.e. separation of single layers of the crystal at the Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology. She received crystals for research at the Technical University in Taipei (Taiwan), where she was on a postdoctoral internship.<\/p>\n<p>Separation of layers is not difficult, but first scientists use an optical microscope to see if the layer is damaged to not curl during separation, and be sure that a single layer is caught.<\/p>\n<p>The layers separated by Wroc\u0142aw scientists are semiconductors that can be used in the future, including in optoelectronics, spintronics &#8211; a variety of electronics of spins, i.e. the angular momentum of the particle and optical spectroscopy as sensors for certain gases.<br \/>\nMore: <a href=\"https:\/\/pwr.edu.pl\/uczelnia\/aktualnosci\/krysztaly-tez-maja-warprawy-11450.html\">https:\/\/pwr.edu.pl\/uczelnia\/aktualnosci\/krysztaly-tez-maja-warprawy-11450.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Joanna Jadczak from the Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology is investigating the properties of single layers of semiconductor crystals.
