The research results were published in the journal Nature Communications.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The object of research was the interaction of atomic systems with light in close proximity to metallic nanostructures. Such nanostructures, a thousand times thinner than the cross section of a human hair, act as tiny antennas tuned in size to optical light lengths (fractions of micrometers).<\/p>\n<p>The research was conducted in cooperation with the research teams of the University of Toru\u0144 and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany.
