Dr Eng. Angela Andrzejewska from the Gdańsk University of Technology is conducting research that may contribute to the development of medical technologies in personalized implantation solutions, e.g. bone restoration.
The researcher will check how the strength of polymer structures produced by 3D printing changes under the influence of various sterilization methods and in an aqueous environment – similar to that found in the human body. The research focuses primarily on the use of materials for filling cavities in bones.
The project “Assessment of the impact of selected sterilization methods on changes in the mechanical behavior of porous structures shaped by melt deposition techniques from hybrid polymers and subjected to hydrolytic degradation in simulated conditions” is financed under the Miniatura 5 program of the National Science Center.
